Ishindaiko.

The history of the Taiko Ishindaiko group, from the city of Londrina - Paraná - Brazil, began in November 2003, when three young people — Lucas Muraguchi, Fernando Kuniyoshi and Beatriz Matsunaga — had their first contact with the art of Taiko.

In love at first sight and at the first sound, these three young people decided to form a group that would convey to each spectator a little piece of Japan. They adopted the name ISHINDAIKO, formed by the ideograms I – one, SHIN – heart, and DAIKO – taiko, which means “drums of a single soul”. The group has always carried this philosophy, maintaining its unity and forming the most awarded Taiko group in Brazil.

Although it started modestly, the group grew and strengthened as new members emerged and friendship bonds were formed, constituting a true family.

Our

essence

gratitude
family
The collective growth of the group did not come solely from its percussionists, it is also due to the constant collaboration of the parents of the players who, equally members of Ishindaiko, work daily for its development, whether by making instruments, performing maintenance and transportation, or by making traditional costumes.

Family, tradition, and gratitude

Likewise, the Ishindaiko group wouldn't be what it is today without the firm and constant support of Mr. Atsushi and Mrs. Kimiko Yoshii who, through A.Yoshii Engineering and the Atsushi and Kimiko Yoshii Institute, not only provide the necessary support and encouragement for training, but also serve as examples of integrity, ethics, dedication, and citizenship.

The training location for the Ishindaiko group is Chácara Saint Peter, owned by Mr. Atsushi Yoshii, a place away from the city center, where the development of percussionists takes place. It is a place for both intense training and lively gatherings.
